In UAE, almost all wastes end up in the landfills because there is hardly any segregation or separation at source. Our project diverts recyclable plastic waste from landfills, and creates a closed loop by hot-wash recycling PET and HDPE into high-quality raw materials to be used again as plastic food and non-food packaging.
The plastic wastes we process come from municipal collection from schools, communities, malls, airports, hotels, and similar establishments. We also organize monthly beach and desert cleanups as well.
We manage the whole process flow in-house, from sorting the plastic waste, washing, and shredding, up to processing it into high-quality PET and HDPE flakes. We also operate our own water treatment facility, allowing us to re-use 80-85% of the consumed water for washing.
Our goal is to expand our recovery systems to be able to source more feedstock, and hopefully make our operations sustainable.
