Like many emerging markets, the Philippines lacks waste management infrastructure. The informal sector plays a critical role in waste recovery, segregation and recycling.
Financing gained through credits will be used to pay better prices and buy more PET bottles from aggregators and suppliers, ensuring a steady stream of raw materials. This helps build a circular economy, while generating more income and better livelihoods for the waste pickers in the informal sector.
