Community Collection and Co-processing of Mixed Plastics in Naga, Cebu, Philippines (PPRS)

·       This project partner works with aggregators, such as junk shops, who buy plastic from waste pickers in the informal waste sector in the Philippines, to ensure the collection and responsible processing of low value post consumer plastic in Cebu, Philippines.  

This project partner is recognized as a reliable partner of various local governments in solid waste management, helping reduce the amount of waste brought to landfills or, worse, thrown into waterways. The low value plastic they collect is sold to co-processors as alternative fuel, reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels and raw materials. 

Credits will help this partner expand the plastic waste collection programs, and purchase more low-value plastic waste that might be otherwise passed over by waste pickers or recyclers.
